2019 Smithville Irish Festival

The 2019 Smithville Irish Festival is in the books.  Our division had a great weekend.  I believe when all the bills are tallied and monies are counted we will have once again met our goals.  I want to extend my heartfelt Thanks to everyone who came out this weekend and pitched in.  We had our seasoned veterans of the festival weekend there, but many new and encouraging faces.  From the Friday set up, or working both Saturday and Sunday, and the final Sunday Evening clean out.  We can be very proud of our festival.

This years festival also welcomed the New Jersey AOH State Board Meeting which was held Saturday Morning.  I want to thank President Kevin Jackson from Atlantic County Division 1, for organizing this meeting, and making sure we had a nice lunch from Pork Island BBQ, ran by a fellow bother James House, for all of the visiting division's or county boards.  I especially want to Thank the New Jersey State President Larry Prelle, who not only came for the meeting, but took time out to enjoy the festival and welcome all of our festival crowds.

Finally I want to make sure we thank The Cape Atlantic Irish Association Board ran by President Rich Kramer.  Its not easy getting this festival organized and making it the success every year without the months and months of planning.  From talking to all of the vendors that attended our festival everyone seemed to have done a great job this year and many were saying how successful their weekends were.

So again Thank You from the bottom of my heart and see everyone at our next meeting where hopefully we will have numbers for everyone on the outcome of the festival.  Our meeting is next Monday October 21, 7pm at the hall.  Enjoy your week and God Bless.

Friendship, Unity, and Christian Charity;

James T. Mc Nally III President Ancient Order of Hibernians Cape May Division 2 Po Box 126 Marmora, NJ 08223 609-548-6426
